Simple Formula

Tatkal Booking Date = Journey Date - 1 day

Example

• Journey Date: November 15, 2026
• Tatkal Date: November 14, 2026

Tatkal Booking Times

Tatkal bookings open at two different times depending on the class:

Class	Opening Time
AC Classes (1AC, 2AC, 3AC)	10:00 AM IST
Non-AC (Sleeper, General)	11:00 AM IST

Why These Times?

Different opening times help distribute the load on IRCTC servers and allow more passengers to book tickets.

• Premium charges apply
• Not available for all trains
