Basic Booking Rules

  • Maximum passengers: 6 per transaction
  • Minimum age: 5 years (children only)
  • Infant booking: 1 free ticket per adult (no berth)
  • Senior citizen discount: 50% for age 60+ with ID proof
  • Military personnel: Special concessions available

Advance Booking Rules

  • Standard trains: 60 days advance booking
  • Premium trains: 120 days advance booking (Rajdhani, Shatabdi)
  • Booking time: 8:00 AM IST on opening date
  • Weekend opening: Bookings open regardless of day
  • Holiday bookings: Normal rules apply

Cancellation Rules

  • 60+ days before: 0% charge
  • 10-60 days before: ₹60 charge
  • 72 hours before: ₹240 charge
  • 24-72 hours: ₹240 charge
  • Less than 24 hours: 50% charge
  • No refund for no-show

Refund Policy

  • Refund to original payment method
  • 7-10 days processing time
  • Charges deducted from refund
  • No refund for missed trains
  • Refund status on IRCTC website
